March 2026

On March 7th, the Lake Champlain Trout Unlimited Chapter hosted a screening of the Scale of Change Film Tour at SUNY Plattsburgh’s Hudson Hall — one of just two U.S. stops on this international conservation film series.

More than 60 anglers and community members gathered for an afternoon of short films from Hooké, exploring dam removal, river restoration, and the resilience of wild Atlantic salmon. The program featured four films, each telling a different story about the bond between people, fish, and wild rivers. Between screenings, attendees enjoyed a raffle featuring fly fishing books, art prints, and hand-tied salmon flies crafted by chapter members.

Bill Bullock, Vice President of Development at the Atlantic Salmon Federation, opened the program with remarks on wild Atlantic salmon and ongoing restoration efforts. A local discussion tied the films’ themes to the Saranac River and conversations about fish passage in our own backyard.

The event closed on a high note: our chapter’s $1,000 donation to ASF was topped off by attendee contributions, bringing the total to $1,160 — presented in person to Bill Bullock at the close of the screening.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this possible.
